Submissions

We are currently working on publication for Issue Six. For future issues, submit your creative nonfiction writing, up to 3000 words.

Submissions are OPEN year-round for Embodied Effigies.  Click here to submit!

The Online Edition of Embodied Effigies is available in our Archives

We look forward to reading your work!

We encourage all contributors to read past issues of the magazine to evaluate if their work will be a good fit with Embodied Effigies.

We accept content through our submissions manager. We do not accept snail mail submissions. If you have any concerns about your submission, please let us know.

Embodied Effigies accepts simultaneous submissions. However, if your work is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw your work immediately. We only accept previously unpublished material.

Embodied Effigies cannot offer monetary payment to contributors at this time, but rather we intend to help emerging voices get over the initial hurdle of submission/acceptance/rejection phobia.

If you are selected for a Special Print Issue, payment will be rendered in the form of a free copy of the magazine.

Embodied Effigies will not knowingly publish content without the express consent of the author/owner. We only feature work freely submitted to us and only request First Serial rights. All content rights revert back to the author after publication. If an author’s work appears in Embodied Effigies, we request  acknowledgement as first publisher if said work is reprinted in the future.
